The City of Abernathy, Abernathy Public Library & Abernathy Chamber of Commerce held its very first Movies in the Park with the showing of the 1990’s version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It was a great turn out and everyone had a good time.
This was a team effort and I cannot Thank my team enough for helping to create this event and then showing up and making this evening successful.
Jessica Wilbanks, our librarian, began working on this last fall. She did a great job.
Thank you to Ryan Companies and Aligned Data Center for donating the popcorn, water and the raffled E-scooter and Blackstone Grill.
And Thank you to The Little Blue Trailer and Lemon Love LBK for coming out!

City Offices & Public Library will close at noon on Thursday, June 18 and will be closed on Friday, June 19 in honor of Juneteenth.
We will reopen for normal business hours on Monday, June 22.
Transfer Station will also be closed on Saturday, June 20.
Emergency crews will operate as normal during this time.

💥 Abernathy Barton-Hood American Legion Post 500’s 4th of July Parade celebrating AMERICA’S 250 years, will be on Saturday, July 4th beginning at 10am starting on 1st & Ave D.
If you wish to participate & be announced, please line up by 9:30am.
After the parade, come out to Main Street and enjoy all the vendor booths with food & fun!
Once the festivities are over on Main, head on over to participate in 4th on the Fields sponsored by Abernathy Little League!
🧨 The City of Abernathy Fireworks Show will be at the City Park and will begin at dark! So grab your lawn chairs or view from Antelope Stadium as our Abernathy Volunteer Fire Department puts on an awesome show!
🍔👚Booth/Vendor spots for Main Street are $40 with all proceeds going to the American Legion.
📋 Forms are available at City Hall and can be paid by cash or check made out to Abernathy Barton-Hood American Legion Post 500.
