Disclosure: The City of Abernathy is aware that as a result of the constant inclement weather over the last few days, an increase in mosquitos 🦟 has occurred.

We are well aware of the situation and are monitoring for the right conditions to exist to city-wide spray against them; The mosquito spraying MUST be done at a time when mosquitos are most active, there is no rain and winds are 10mph or below. With this said, the plan is to spray this evening/night.

We understand this may be frustrating and ask our community to also do their part in preventing mosquitoes by:

Keeping your grass mowed, Pour out stagnant water around your property, remove trash/junk that will hold excess water like old tires etc., Cover containers that can hold water, Clean out your gutters, or Fill in or drain any low spots in your yard. Also use alternative means of protection against mosquitoes while our public works team continues to monitor and exercise discretion for the best times to spray for mosquitos.

Thank you - City of Abernathy.
