About Animal Control

The City of Abernathy does enforce Texas rabies vaccination requirements. It is unlawful for an owner or person in control of an animal to fail to keep the animal under restraint in a securely enclosed or confined area and in a manner that will isolate the animal from the public and other animals, except for animals owned or under the control of the owner.

Reminders

Please ensure your pet has a collar with a current rabies vaccination tag and your contact information.  This will aid the City in reuniting you with your pet.

The City of Abernathy has Animal Control Ordinances in place to ensure that both animals and citizens are protected. To view the City of Abernathy Ordinances that pertain to Animal Control, please visit www.ecode360.com/40130531.
