PUBLIC NOTICE: 2 Bats have tested positive for Rabies in the City of Lubbock. These are the first 2 known rabies cases in Lubbock County. Please be on high alert. If you see a bat during the day time; AVOID contact and contact Animal Control Immediately. As a reminder: BATS, RACOONS, SKUNKS, and FOXES are at higher risk for Rabies transmission.
If you see any of these or any nocturnal animals roaming around during the day time, it is highly likely they have contracted rabies and are at a higher risk for human exposure. DO NOT try to capture them.
